All About Joe
Alright, here we are ... well, there's not too much to say about myself. I guess I'm a bit of a dichotomy in that I'm a jock and a geek at the same time. You don't find too many like me. Case in point: I've never watched an episode of Star Trek, but am a Linux junkie and I don't know too many other people who have played basketball very well AND recompiled Apache modules. :)

I live in the Fox Valley, which is a great place to live and bring up a family. It is also one of the faster growing areas in the US, so the economy is decent.

I'm a Web Administrator by trade, I just can't get enough Front Page and IIS. That's a joke, the more know me, the funnier you thought that joke was.

I'm actually a Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) and have a strength in Internet technologies, such as (careful, watch for flying buzzwords) Apache, XML, DHTML and any web scripting language that ends with a 'P', plus ColdFusion. I also have found a niche with Linux services aside from Apache, such as BIND, MySQL, yada, yada. I get a kick out of looking at TCP packets, namely HTTP headers. I'm also a decent programmer, I guess ... I utilize Shell, PERL, C and now Java. I also teach Web and Linux classes at a nearby two year college.

As of 2005, I am the JDEdwards administrator for my company.

I do side jobs for companies (see Newost, LLC) ... I try to take on small projects to help small to midsize companies and schools. I also do some "government work", as I call it .. that's not as monetarily rewarding.

Then, in my spare time ... (I wish I had more) ... I spend time with my family, which is what I enjoy more than anything.

I'm out.
